OK. I give up! I bought a new SSD. The old HDD was dual boot Windows 10 & Linux Mint. The old HDD was 500gb and the new drive is 1tb. For what ever reason, I have had issues getting both OS to boot. I ended up re-cloning the SSD. But now I have 500gb unused and can't allocate to either Windows or Mint. So...naturally I decided to give up on Windows and go single boot with Mint. I'll decide to switch Linux distros later. I'm sure it's all Microsoft's fault.

@JonYoder OK...but my Vista machine specifically was advertised as the purchase including the upgrade to 7 which was scheduled to come out shortly after, and we did the upgrade at that time...
