Good morning!
I've used DeltaChat for some time. I'm getting away from WhatsApp, which 95% of people here in Brazil use. I want to provide options for people to talk with me. Has to be easy and simple, for people with even less aptitude than I.

Your site says:

"A major milestone in our 6+ years long project history: With the rolling 1.46 app releases you can start chatting without a pre-existing e-mail address. Just provide a name and then tap “Agree and continue” to create a chat profile using the default chatmail server. Or visit other chatmail servers and tap the invite on their home page."

This is after a person downloads the DeltaChat app, correct? This new method has me a bit confused, because I did it the hard way back in the day. :)

@rm yes, people need to download and install the app, then click "create profile" and at best you give them an "invite link" through another channel (Whatsapp for example) which they, after install, can simply click to get a chat with you. Please let us know about obstacles you found if you tried it out some times.

@rm you can also try this yourself first, even on a single device, by using the "copy-paste" buffer to transfer the link from one selected account to another. On a new profile you can click "+" - new contact - Scan QR Code -- 3-dotmeu: paste from clipboard ... on the existing profile click "+" - new contact - "Link" - Copy-to-clipboard.

@rm the app has brazil language or "localization" how its called technically -- or what do you mean?

@Delta Chat wow, that was super easy, though I prefer to use my own email address, I thought I would test it out this easy signup. Seemed to work great.

@Delta Chat I do notice that when signed up on the default Deltachat email server, I can't manually add a contact with using their email address. I can only use their QR code or invite link. Is that to prevent SPAM accounts?

@christopher yes, that is what allow us to offer open registration without manual approval/moderation or solving captchas, or needing to known your identity to trust you, and to allow you to send (almostl) unlimited amounts of emails per day without strict rate limits
