@Randal As far as features, Hubzilla is my favorite. I like that I can create a privacy group and then just post to those in that group. I can also view just posts of those in that privacy group. As a whole, I don't think it suits newbies. Is Pleroma just a duplicate to Mastodon, just written in a different language?

Have you heard how Streams is different from Hubzilla and Zap in general? Hub does have a lot more options, for sure.
I read somewhere that Pleroma is a lot lighter than Mastodon.
I must make a correction: The Bible account is not on Pleroma, but Soapbox:

I like how it works. Misskey also feels good.
