I haven't listened to Switchfoot in a while. Every time I pull them up again, it's like Jesus speaks to me. Like he shuffles the playlist. Like he knows what I need to hear. Like breathing fresh air.
First song.
This is Home. A song reminding me of where I belong.
Then,
Hello Hurricane. A song about no storm being able to break love.
Next song.
The Sound. With lyrics like "There is no song louder than love" & "John Perkins said it right, Love is the final fight".
Then,
Adding to the Noise. A great reminder that commentaries, podcasts, so-called christian social media influencers, preachers, & musicians can be a distraction. There is a point when these are helpful, but also a point when these things can muddy the water.
Then,
Joy Invincible. Joy can exist along the pains of life.
And also...
Gone. A song reminding me that yesterday is gone. Gotta live in the present. Can't live in the past, can't live in the future.
And it just keeps going and going and going.
