What would be the best Linux replacement PC for a Windows Surface laptop/tablet? My wife has to return hers back to the company she used to work for and would love a new one, but it would be a good time to move her out of the Windows environment. Has to be thin, touchscreen, and a keyboard.

@R. L. Dane @Jon Yoder I'm not necessarily talking about new...just new to her. Refurbished or used or open box. The more I am thinking about it, maybe an android tablet with a keyboard will work.

So, here's my complication. It's an uphill battle. My wife works with others on a nonprofit and she needs something that is compatible with mainstream services like google drive or onedrive and MS Office. She is tech illiterate and doesn't value privacy or alternate ways of computing.

What I was thinking of doing at first was buying a 2-in1 laptop and loading linux (probably ubuntu because of touchscreen support, but i'm very open minded here) and libreoffice for MS Office compatiblitiy. Basically wanting the Surface experience, but I don't want to pay the Surface premium, nor do I want to continue the Microsoft or google usage.

Look into OnlyOffice. It's FOSS, supposedly has the best MS office compatibility, and LOOKS a lot like modern office (which is the reason I don't use it, lol)

As far as the best Linux touchscreen experience, I really don't know.
