I have questions but first: looking better!
1) Is that a door on the second floor?
2) If 1 == TRUE, does that make that a balcony access??

Thanks!
Yes, that's a door. I did rip off the railing to the balcony at the beginning of this project. The door goes straight into the laundry room. It's not feasible to entertain guests on the balcony. You have to walk thru bedrooms to get back to that side of the house.
I think the door will be considered a fire exit once the project is complete. We never use the balcony.

oh man, I missed this. What a sad loss of a fantastic space! But I definitely get it.

This house was built in the 1860s. It was turned into a duplex at some point, then converted back into a single family home. When we bought it, the laundry room was still a 2nd kitchen. I converted it into a laundry room.

Must be the angle. There are a lot of houses that are very similar to this one in our city. Typical of the 1860s. It has a few unique features, like stained glass windows. But many homes from that Era do.
