Tipping has become such an awkward thing. I don't mind tipping, but it gets awkward when something is free, yet you're expected to tip. I typically tip well in normal circumstances.
Today, breakfast was free at the hotel, but they print a receipt to add a tip. My employer covers the room charges and wouldn't allow the tip, so billing the room is not an option. I had no cash on me. Am I really supposed to swipe my credit card for a tip for a free/complimentary breakfast?
Maybe these hotel owners should just pay their employees so us customers don't have to deal with this awkwardness.
