My wife and I have realized that we need a quick get-away. Doesn't need to be something elaborate, and just for a few days. So, I'm thinking about Cedar Rapids, IA. It's not terribly far away. I do want to check out the Czech Village / New Bohemia District. We could visit Grant Wood’s quirky studio (where he painted American Gothic) and the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art. They even have geocaching challenges throughout their park system.
Then I heard about Mt. Trashmore. Part of me wants to go check it out because it's so weird. But the other part of me doesn't want to admit how much trash we have as a society.
