The realization of how dependent we are on a single device has got me rethinking some things.
Short story is that my wife's phone (Pixel 5a) crapped out. Most of her friends still use SMS text. So she can't communicate with any of them, unless maybe email?
Here's just a couple of struggles I've had since yesterday evening.
She can't log into Gmail from another device without her phone/phone number. She can't call or message anyone she normally talks to. Her laptop signed out of Telegram, so that can't even be turned back on at the moment. She can use Facebook and Facebook Messager, which is NOT what I like to hear.
Added to the struggle is that my back up phone.... well, it won't power on. 🤦♂️
Also added to the struggle is that we are traveling all day with events to attend and we will only have a 30 minute window to purchase a new phone and activate it.
Soon, I'll have to buy a replacement backup phone.
I'll let you know how this saga plays out.
